Health & Safety Manager - Construction
Location: Bolton
Salary: Up to £60,000

Package: £5,000 car allowance, mileage, bonus scheme, pension, holidays, flexible working

 

The Opportunity

A growing construction company has seen turnover rise from £7m to £23m in recent years and is now looking to bring its Health & Safety function in-house. Having relied on an external consultancy for over 12 years to manage ISO certifications, SafeContractor accreditation, site audits and H&S advice, the business now requires a dedicated professional to take full ownership of this function internally.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of growth and make a real impact by shaping its H&S systems and processes for the future.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of Health & Safety across the business, replacing external consultancy support.
  • Maintain and develop ISO certifications and SafeContractor accreditation.
  • Carry out site audits across all projects, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Review and update company RAMS, Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), and other pre-construction and design documentation.
  • Vet and approve subcontractor RAMS and CPPs.
  • Provide proactive H&S advice to management, project teams, and site staff.
  • Develop scalable systems to support continued business growth.
